Why choose TelDoc for telehealth psychology?
Our telehealth service offers convenient, accessible mental health care without the need for in-person visits. It’s ideal for those with busy schedules, living in regional or remote areas, or preferring the comfort of their own environment. TelDoc ensures continuity of care by allowing you to book with the same psychologist for follow-up sessions, and we streamline the process by submitting Medicare rebate claims on your behalf.
Who is eligible for telehealth psychology sessions?
To access sessions with a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and a referral from your usual general practitioner (GP). These can be obtained through TelDoc’s online GP consultations. The service is available to Australian residents aged 18 and over with a valid Medicare card. An MHCP allows up to 10 rebated psychology sessions per calendar year.

Is telehealth psychology suitable for everyone?
Telehealth psychology is effective for most individuals seeking mental health support but is not appropriate for acute crises, severe mental health conditions requiring immediate intervention (e.g., psychosis), or situations involving a risk of self-harm.
