About Teldoc: Your Trusted Telehealth Partner

Teldoc is an Australian-owned and operated telehealth service. We connect patients across Australia with AHPRA-registered doctors by phone or video, often within 15 minutes, seven days a week from 9am to 7pm (Sydney time).

Our aim is simple: make good general practice care easy to reach and fairly priced, whether you live in a capital city or a remote town hours from the nearest clinic.

Who we are

Teldoc is the trading name of Pharmacy Family Doctors Pty Limited (ABN 33 654 860 652), an independent Australian company established in 2022. Teldoc has provided telehealth consultations since 2023. Our principal doctor is Dr Vafa Derakshan, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. We built our service for the Australian healthcare system: our doctors follow RACGP clinical standards, and we handle your health information under Australian privacy law.

Teldoc is not connected to Teladoc Health or any other overseas telehealth provider.

Our doctors provide general practice care that can safely be delivered by phone or video, including:

Online prescriptions and eScripts for new and repeat medications, where clinically appropriate
Medical certificates for work, study or carer's leave
General health consultations and ongoing care

Pregnancy consultations
Specialist referrals and pathology and radiology referrals
COVID-19 assessment and treatment

Your eScript, certificate or referral is sent straight to your phone or email, and you can use it at any pharmacy, pathology collection centre or imaging provider in Australia. You can also find a pharmacy or specialist near you through our health network.

Teldoc is not an emergency service. If you have a medical emergency, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Fees and bulk billing

Standard consultations start from $55 on weekdays. Bulk billing is available for some eligible Medicare card holders, including STI testing and contraception consultations, babies under 12 months and people experiencing homelessness. See our fees for full pricing and eligibility.

Medical Review Board

The health articles on the Teldoc blog are reviewed by our Medical Review Board, a group of AHPRA-registered doctors and health professionals. They check that our content is accurate, current and consistent with Australian clinical guidelines. You can verify each member's registration on the public AHPRA register.

Dr Vafa Derakshan

Vafa is a dedicated general practitioner with a strong background in healthcare. He holds a Bachelor of Optometry with Honors and an MBBS from the University of Notre Dame, Sydney. Additionally, he has achieved FRACGP qualification and obtained his fellowship in Sydney.

Vafa is passionate about preventive health and believes in a holistic approach to healthcare. To further enhance his knowledge and skills, he has pursued additional courses, including the Australasian Preliminary course in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine through the University of Queensland.

With his diverse experience and qualifications, Vafa is well-equipped to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages.

Dr Angelo Jayamanne

FRACP, MBBS, PhD, BMSc (Hons 1)

Dr Angelo Jayamanne is a skilled neurologist with a strong academic background. He completed his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame (Fremantle) and achieved accreditation in Neurology from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr Jayamanne's expertise extends beyond clinical practice. He holds a PhD in peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain, and his research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he completed a neurophysiology fellowship at the Prince of Wales Hospital, where he honed his skills in nerve conduction studies, electromyography, and electroencephalography.

Dr Sina M. Keihani

FRACP, MBBS

Dr Keihani is a highly respected Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine and a Specialist in Sleep Disorders. He serves as the Director of SleepMed Australia, a leading provider of sleep services, and consults at St John of God Hospital. Additionally, he is a Senior Lecturer at Notre Dame University, sharing his expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Dr Keihani is actively involved in the medical community, serving as a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, American Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society, Australian Sleep Association, and American Sleep Association. Ms Milreet Mann

Milreet is a highly skilled nurse practitioner with a specialisation in geriatrics. With a Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing, and a Master of Nurse Practitioner from the University of Sydney, Milreet has a strong foundation in both general nursing and advanced geriatric care.
