Teldoc Australia is a fully Australian-owned online GP service. You connect with an Australian doctor by video or phone from home, the office or the train, without waiting for an appointment at a local clinic.

What our Sydney patients use us for

• Repeat prescriptions: an eScript sent by SMS that you can fill at any Sydney pharmacy, including our Health Network partner pharmacies from the CBD to the northern beaches, the inner west and Parramatta.
• Medical certificates: for work, USyd, UNSW, UTS, Macquarie or TAFE, emailed the same day.
• Sexual health: discreet STI testing and treatment, contraception, bulk billed with a valid Medicare card. Erectile dysfunction consultations are a private fee ($55 weekdays / $75 weekends) with no Medicare rebate.
• Referrals: pathology and imaging requests you can take to any collection centre or imaging practice across Sydney, and specialist referrals.
• Mental health: a first conversation with a GP, and a plan for what comes next.
• Western Sydney and the outer suburbs: if the nearest clinic in Blacktown, Penrith, Liverpool or Campbelltown is booked out, a phone or video consultation is usually available within the hour.

Local health services in Sydney

Teldoc works alongside the services already available in Sydney. If a telehealth consultation isn't the right fit, our GP will tell you and point you to the right place.

• Sydney Sexual Health Centre, Sydney Hospital, Macquarie Street: NSW Health's confidential public sexual health clinic in the city. Teldoc can arrange the same tests by telehealth with a pathology request.
• Emergencies: for chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding or any emergency, call 000 or go to the Royal Prince Alfred, St Vincent's, Royal North Shore or Westmead emergency department. Telehealth is not for emergencies.

Bulk billing in Sydney

We bulk bill every consultation that Medicare covers. Medicare only covers a telehealth GP consultation if you have seen us in person in the past 12 months or an exemption applies. Exemptions include sexual health consultations, babies under 12 months and patients experiencing homelessness, so those consultations are bulk billed with a valid Medicare card. Yes. Our GPs issue medical certificates for university, TAFE and work absences after a consultation, emailed to you the same day.

Do you do STI testing in Sydney?
Yes. After a discreet video or phone consultation we send a pathology request you can take to any collection centre in Sydney. Results are reviewed by our GP and treatment can be arranged by eScript. Our sister service STI Doctor also offers this Australia-wide.
